Comments: For some reason I picked your site out of many that were given as choices after a search operation. I found out tonight that my father has been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid, and I began researching to understand what this meant. I was lead from one medical term to another, and now understand that there are about 4 or 5 diseases that affect the thyroid. I don't know for sure, but after looking at your checklist, I think this is what he may have. He goes in for more definitive tests shortly, but I was amazed at all the symptoms he had. We thought it took his doctors a long time to diagnosis this, but after reading others' stories I realize he is lucky. It's probably been less than a year. Unfortunately he's located in Chicago and I'm on the West coast, but I plan to print lots of your site pages to send to him for support, encouragement, and explanations. Thank you for all the information and testimonials here on an honest-to-goodness real person page, minus the medical double-speak and definitions within definitions!!

Comments: I know I e-mailed you but other's don't have access to that. I have been suffering for several years from Graves and we just now might be on track with it. It's a horrible disease that is destroying my life and my family. People need to understand the textbook version of it doesn't begin to touch what we sufferer's endure (or try to endure). Your site has supplied me with personal stories I can have my friends and family read and maybe they'll know then that I'm not a hypochondriac even though my vital signs and bloodtests prove much different. They think if I dated I would feel much better about myself. Personally? I wish I had the energy to date and the concentration level required for a 6th grade conversation. You're a Godsend.

Comments: Thank you.My dad was dignosed with graves New Years Eve 99. He has been miserable for years.in a lot of pain. I just emailed him about your web site. I know it will make him feel better reading your story. And now i'm know that i could possibly get or have (who knows) graves. I am going to go in for a physical now. I have been tested for thyroid but it came back negative, does this also mean that i don't have graves?

Comments: Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only one. My surgery was almost 2 years ago and I still don't feel "normal" and many people in my life don't understand.

Comments: I have had Graves disease for about a year and a half. After RAI I am now hypothyroid and have gained a lot of weight. My joints and muscles hurt like crazy and my energy level is way down. Do you also have the aching and if so, what to do about it?? I really hate this.
Hope you have a fantastic day tomorrow, and thanks so much for your website!!

Comments: My Mother ,age 53, was just diagnosed with Grave's Disease and I have been looking for information that may be of help for her. She believes that you can heal the body naturally via proper nutrition, meditation and hands-on healing and she had been doing great with her hyperthyroid condition until this darn flu-bug hit her - now she has gone conventional out of the fear her heart may 'give out'. Right now she is on both beta-blockers and propylthiouracil and feels very dizzy and still sounds very hyper on the phone. I know that dizzy is a side effect but she was already dizzy anyways, but what concerns me is the palpitations, her heart is just racing and you can actually feel her temporal pulse racing. I would like info about experiences with propylthiouracil ie. was it effective? , how long was it required?, is it a life-long drug? what can we expect next? Is anyone out there trying natural or alternative treatments? She does Reiki, acupuncture, massage therapy but because of the depressed immunity with the flu it seemed that the situation became critical. Thank you for sharing your stories - I believe this is where the healing begins.
