Comments: My boyfriend was diagnosed with Graves after he came back from a tour in Bosnia two years ago. I think the most difficult thing for me to deal with was his anger - at just about anything, and his willingness to let me help him and love him. I had never heard of Graves before this, and I have spent a lot of time on the web researching it. I found your site, cause I was actually looking for an e-card to send my boyfriend. Talk about kismet!

Comments: I've been reading on and off for a couple years and I'm still trying to get my levels 'normal' after a Jan '98 RAI. The extra weight and emotional up and downs . very frustrating...I want to get healthy!

Comments: I think this site is great! My mother has had a thyroid "condition" for over 40 years. She is also experiencing small seizures. She just had a needle biopsy in the larger of two goiters and will get the results soon. I am grateful for all the information and personal details you've disclosed that helps others. Keep up the good work and best wishes!

Comments: I was just diagnosed 1 month ago. I am a complete basket case, crying, anxious, fearful and feeling isolated. The doctor says I have had Graves for at least 5 years in which I have seen psychiatrists and told it was an anxiety disorder. I was a practicing alcoholic until 4 yrs ago when I quit with AAs help. I would drink to take the edge off. I am so pissed that my doctors assumed I was neurotic and I wasted so many opportunities in life out of fear. I get the iodine radiation this week. It feels so good to tell someone about this. My friends still think I'm just crazy. I can't wait to feel somewhat normal again. At least my eyes didn't bulge.

Comments: I WAS RECENTLY DIAGNOSED WITH GRAVES DISEASE. THE DOCTOR SAID SHE WOULD SCHEDULE ME AN APPOINTMENT WITH A SPECIALIST. THAT HAS BEEN ALMOST 6 MONTHS AGO. UNTIL I READ THIS SITE, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TYPE OF DOCTOR I NEEDED TO SEE. REST ASSURED, I WILL BE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT ASAP. THANKS SO MUCH.

Comments: My daughter is getting married in 4 weeks to a wonderful young man, 21 years old. This last November he was diagnosed with Graves disease. Since that time he has had 2 radiation treatments. We just found out today that the 2nd treatment did not work, either. This disease is causing havoc in their young lives, at a time when they have plans and dreams of starting their life together. Thank you for the information on these pages. I hope to learn as much as I can about Graves disease and somehow provide the support and love that will help them through this.

Comments: This page has helped ease my nerves a little bit. I am going for blood tests in a couple of days. Previously I have been treated for anxiety and depression, and have had to live with panic attacks for the past 3 years. Reading some of your symtoms, especially the one about always being hot, I think we have finally found out what may be wrong with me. Everything you mentioned is exactly what I am currently dealing with. I too am close to losing my job for time out. This might sound strange, but I am hopeful that I have GD, because at least I would know what is causing all of this. And I will finally be able to get treatment for what has made my life a living hell. Thank you very much for putting this page up.
