Comments: after reading various descriptions of thyroid diseases and disorder, i know that all this time i have suffered from some kind of thyroid problem. after worrying about appearing like a hypocondriac, i had the courage to discuss with my doctor, very seriously, about the ailments that i have been suffering with for over 5 years, if not longer. i retrieved my messages today form work to hear a message from my doctor saying that there is a problem with my thyroid. although i am not happy about the prospects, i am relieved to finally know that it is not just about psychology and poor eating and exercise habits. thanks so much for your site - V

Comments: You are my hero; I am so glad to have found your website. I have only had my computer since June. Oh, how I wish I had known about you and your friends. The reason you are my hero? Because I was diagnosed with Graves' in 1994 and as soon as I recovered from the shock of having to deal with all this messed up life, I thought that one day I would like to write a book in order to help others. And you have succeeded in doing something even more helpful than I could have. You are a blessing to me now and I know you have helped so many others. I salute you and all the other "warriors" out there. I don't feel so alone anymore. I don't have to spend any more long,lonely and sleepless nights or any more days feeling that I am in a terrible foggy-headed, confused state that no one understands. Now I know I will have someone who really understands. I have experienced every symptom of Graves. The best way I can explain how I feel about it is in a little essay I wrote one day when I was so down. I will e-main it to you as soon as I remember where I put it. Comments: What a very informative page! I been battling something, I still do not know what it is. Anxiety, palpitations, blotchy skin, nervousness, nightmares, noticed my hearing isn't like it used to be, eyes are blurry, dry. Visine every morning. My grandmother (both sides) have had thyroid problems, is this hereditary? Anxiety attacks started when I was 13, I am now 29. The rest, I think, was every couple months it something else. Panic and fear seem to control my life along with gastointestinal problems. Thanks for giving me some kind of direction!
