Comments: I was diagnosed with GD about 2 months ago. I had the RAI about 1 1/2 months ago. I haven't started to feel any different yet, but hopefully I will soon. I still have a rapid heartbeat and I am tired all the time, as well as heat intolerance and excessive itching. Your site is great, very informative, thanks.

Comments: I recently found out my aunt that I'm close to has Graves' disease... It's comforting to a college kid away from her family to know that things can and will be okay.

Comments: I had a biospy done in March 2000. It was not cancer and the doctor felt it was necessary to treat the goiter. In August, I was rushed to the hospital for palpations. Here it is 2001 and I am still trying to get my diesease under control. The doctors have presciped antidepressents to help control my depression which is caused by their lack of controlling my thyroids. I am still sick and very miserable,no energy and just made at the medical community and this disease. I want to find a doctor who can cure or get my thyroids under control.

Comments: It's so nice to know I am not alone. Sometimes I think no one in the world can know what I am going through. I know my husband can't understand and I don't blame him. I was diagnosed with Grave's Disease in November 2000, two months after I got married. Needless to say I have just had the radioactive Iodine 2 weeks ago. It has been a rough 2 weeks to say the least. I can't wait to feel better again and be myself again. I think back to the past two years and know that I had symptoms and probably have had Grave's Disease for a long time. I wish I had been diagnosed a long time ago and then I may have made different choices in my life even 20 years ago. But, now I have a wonderful husband and 2 children, 2 step-children and they have been great. It hurts me however, that they have all suffered because of what I am going through.

Comments: I am only now reading other peoples stories. I was diagnosed with Graves in 1992. PTU worked for awhile, but I slip in and out of remission. I get symptoms before they show up in my lab work, which makes the doctor's job tougher, and my life miserable. My main symptoms when my TSH drops is rapid heart beat, irregular heart beat, both accompanied by full body tremors. I am so sick of this. I also experience annoying pain in the thryoid area, neck, jaw and sometimes ears. I sought another opinion; that doctor took me off ptu altogether, because despite fluctuating levels of tsh from normal to low to hypothyroid ranges, i still get period heart symptoms. I am fed up. It's now time for the radioactive iodide...but the doctors aren't sure if all is related to my heart symptoms. I was evaluated by a cardiologist last year..all is normal..anyone out there with a similar experience they care to share? I am at my wits end and don't know why I should consider radioactive iodide if doctors aren't sure it is causing the palpitations. Personally, i think they are as i never had these symptoms until I had graves.

Comments: In August of 1999 I began a new year with some of Orangeburgs most challenged, normal children in the area. I remember in our induction meetings being so nervous standing to speek that i almost shook to the floor. Me the ex Navy corpsman who gave at least 5 a day. I then remember every bone in my body aching as if I had been in a head on collision. Migraines became my best friend at the end of the work day along with passing out into a deep sleep with an investigative 1 year old running loose. These were things that were Never a part of my daily routine. Worse than this at age 29 i had 0 desire to touch my husband much less allow him to make love to me. I had no idea what was wrong. and the worst part was this was only the beginning. If you are interested in the rest write me back at sherryrhodes2002@yahoo.com
