Comments: I wish I would have found this site as soon as I was diagnosed with Graves Disease, it would have helped me and my family so much. I was diagnosed Oct. 1999 and today I can honestly say I am feeling pretty good..not always great, but good is better then two years ago. Thanks for sharing this wonderful site with us.

Comments: I have just been diagnosed with Graves disease. I am 23 and a mess. I cried as I read through your story and realized how much I have been going through the past few months. Thank goodness, they caught mine early. I will be starting Radioactive iodine next month. Thank you for sharing your story.

Comments: After reading your story, I feel blessed to have an incredible ob/gyn who waded through my sketchy symptoms (I'm hot--in Oklahoma in the summer; I can't sleep, then I'm fatigued--with a 9 month old baby to take care of) and ordered a blood test. He suspected hyper thyroidism and the test confirmed it. He referred my to an endocronologist within 2 days. I am very lucky.

Comments: Thanks for your website. I just found it. I have been suffering from hyperthyroidism/graves disease since probably the birth of my third child, but it didn't really get bad till after my fourth was born. I didn't know why I felt so terrible, I was always hot, my hands and legs would shake, I couldn't write very well because of the shaking. I was always tired, my heart was constantly racing. It was awful, finally I decided that something bad was wrong and went to my dr. luckily he is a wonderful dr. and almost immediately knew that i had a thyroid problem of some type and sent me to an endocrinologist. I have been taking PTU and Tapazole since 1999, but the problem isn't quite under control yet, so i am now deciding to have surgery or RAI done. I am not sure what to do because the dr. says the RAI may make my "bulgy" eye problem worse, but then it may not. Anyway i have a decision to make. Thanks again for your story.

Comments: I never thought I would be so sick in my life. The word disease sounds horrible, and I hate associating it with my body. I was diagnosed August 14, 2001. I just got married in May and now this. My husband is fantastic. He supports me and loves my dispite of this illness. He reads alot about Graves and know what could happen as the disease progresses. I have lost about 13lbs from 128lbs. If I lose any more weight, I'm going to float away. I would love to meet some else with Graves so I won't feel so alone.

Comments: I just wanted to thank you for your web site on Graves Disease. After years of mis-diagnoses by more MD's than I can remember seeing I was finally seen by a doctor with a brain who knew just by hearing me out and examining me what was happening to me. Unfortunatley, by then, I had lost my job of 10 years, a relationship that was also compromised,(He left me for a healthier, wealthier woman) and my home, but your personal stories and updates have given me some hope of a productive future. I am currently being treated with medication, and will more than likely opt for the RAI treatment shortly. No one else I have talked to about this understands the emotional upheaval this condition has brought in to my life not to mention what it has done to me physically. I am only 48 years old and feel like I'm 68 most of the time, though after being on PTU for the last 4 months and the meds for the palpitations I feel a bit better, but am still suffering from the emotional battle I've had to endure because of Grave's Disease. Again, Thank you for the support and keep up the great web site so it will help others new to this condition. If anyone would like to e-mail me to offer any advice or if you'd just like to talk about Grave's Disease please feel free to, it would be greatly appreciated to be able to speak with someone who can relate to this. My e-mail address is:LYNCLARKSON@email.msn.com Hope to hear from you.

Comments: I love your webssite. I'm only in the middle of it yet, but it's so nice to know that i'm not suffering alone although I am just starting into my research on hyper& graves disease. My endocrinologist is suggesting RAI at this time. I'm waiting for results of another more in depth blood test. I'm going back to read more. Thank You.

Comments: Thank you, Sue!! I just found your site on the Internet and its been a blessing. I learned last week that I have hyperthyroidism and will go in for tests in a few days. Thanks for the pictures! I think of my throat over the years. I may be nearly 42 now, but I think my thyroid problem dates back much earlier. My neck has had a "trunk" kind of look for years, and not once did someone say, "whoa," until this year! Anyway, thanks for the site, and the check list. My skin has been driving me crazy, and I thought I had a food allergy. Wrong! God's Best to you and all of us with this! Judy

Comments: I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 1999. By 2000 I thought it was history. In 2001 it's back. I'm tired of the emotional rollercoaster. I'm tired of all the tears.
